About Illation

Illation was formed in 2002 by professionals with a long-term involvement in the Business Rule Management Systems (BRMS) industry. The consultancy group was specifically formed to address the shortage of skilled and knowledgeable people in the BRMS consulting market. Global use of BRMS is increasing across all sectors of industry because of the agility it provides to business. Our objectives are to provide expert knowledge and assistance to companies implementing or integrating BRMS, in particular the financial services industry. Illation has assembled a team of experts with many years of experience and expertise in the industry.

Illation consultants have successfully completed projects utilizing Business Rule Management Systems from all major vendors, including ILOG JRules, Fair-Isaac Blaze, Haley Rules and several open-source rule engine systems. Our consultants are contributors to magazines and academic workshops, and regularly publish papers on topics such as the testing of rule-based systems, rule governance and other topics of interest to the BRMS community. We maintain a number of BRMS benchmarks available on the web that measure rule engine performance in specific scenarios and we maintain a position as ‘thought leaders’ within the BRMS market. This experience enables us to better serve our customers needs.

The independent role of Illation consulting is of significant value, as we are able to utilize our past experience and make assessments based on information that may otherwise not be readily available to others in the industry. This value has already been recognized in reviews of BRMS implementations undertaken on behalf of a number of our customers.
